Sample, approval, inspection and delivery are separate decisions. Your order should identify the final reference before bulk production, whether or not a physical sample is made.
Choose an approval route
A physical sample lets you check actual colour, size, edge and feel before production. Typical sample time is 3–7 working days after artwork approval and sample payment terms. An order may instead proceed after the customer approves the final production artwork and written specification without a physical sample; a screen proof does not demonstrate the exact finished colour or feel. Compare the two routes.
State the inspection reference
When a physical sample was approved, inspection uses it together with the final written specification. Without a physical sample, the approved final artwork and written specification are the reference. Identify any critical measurement, material or test requirement before approving the order. See how checks are agreed.
Separate production from arrival
Typical bulk production is 7–14 working days after final artwork, specification and payment terms are confirmed; this is not a guaranteed arrival date. Freight, transit and customs clearance are separate. Give your target in-hands date during quotation so the schedule can be assessed. See the delivery milestones.
