Backing & Attachment Options

Choose an attachment route for the fabric, installation method and care conditions — then confirm it for your project.

Backing is part of the specification, not a universal performance guarantee. The patch process, fabric, adhesive, installation and care conditions all need to work together.

SEWN ATTACHMENT

Sew-on

A route for patches intended to be stitched onto a garment or product. Confirm the stitch route, edge and installation access with the garment maker.

HEAT APPLICATION

Heat Seal

A heat-activated adhesive route. The actual fabric, heat tolerance, adhesive and application conditions must be checked; it is not automatically suitable for every garment.

REMOVABLE PATCH

Hook & Loop

A route for removable patches. Confirm which mating pieces are required, how the loop side is attached and the intended use.

ADHESIVE APPLICATION

Self-Adhesive

A route for adhesive attachment where appropriate. Surface, use duration, handling and care conditions need confirmation; do not assume it replaces sewing for a washable garment.

Before choosing

Product and fabric Tell us what the patch will be attached to and whether the fabric has a coating or finish.
Installation Confirm available sewing or heat-application equipment and who will attach the patch.
Use and care Explain whether the patch must be removable, exposed outdoors or washed with the product.
Approval Confirm the backing and installation requirements with the artwork and final specification.

Options vary by patch process and construction. Unless separately agreed, we supply finished, separate patches; the brand or garment maker handles installation.

Compare patch processes or send your fabric and attachment requirements for project-specific evaluation.
